FAQs

Whether you’re planning a new site, improving an existing one, moving off Wix or Squarespace, or exploring white-label options for your agency, here are the answers to our most common questions.

What types of clients do you work with?

We work with a wide range of clients, including self-employed professionals, small businesses, charities, agencies (white-label work), and government organisations. We also support international clients, including those in the US, Singapore, and Australia. Whether your project is local or global, we can tailor our approach to suit your needs.

How much does a website cost?

Every project is unique, so pricing varies depending on complexity, functionality, and design requirements. Smaller websites may start at a modest level, while larger business sites, eCommerce stores, or more complex solutions are higher. We always provide a clear, tailored quote before starting any work.

How long will it take to build my website?

Project timescales depend on the type of website and current workload. Standard brochure websites typically take a few weeks, while eCommerce or complex builds take longer. More intricate projects may extend further. A realistic timeline is always discussed and agreed upon during the proposal stage.

Do you offer hosting?

Yes, hosting is included for managed websites. Our hosting is green-powered and comes with SSL, SSD storage, CDN, daily backups, security scans, and performance monitoring. This keeps your website secure, fast, and reliable while allowing us to handle all the technical maintenance for you.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Yes. Support can be ad-hoc, on retainer, or via fully managed care plans. This includes updates, troubleshooting, feature additions, performance optimisations, and general site maintenance to ensure everything continues running smoothly.

Can you improve or rebuild my existing website?

Absolutely! We can refresh, improve, or fully rebuild an existing website. This includes redesigning the look and feel, improving UX/UI, and optimising functionality. We also specialise in moving websites off platforms like Wix or Squarespace, often referred to as “de-Wixifying.” This process creates a flexible, professional WordPress site that’s easier to manage, more scalable, and visually improved.

Why hire a developer instead of using Wix or Squarespace?

DIY platforms can work for very simple sites, but they have inherent limitations. Adding advanced functionality can be time-consuming, restrictive, or require a steep learning curve. By hiring a professional, you get a website tailored to your needs, optimised for performance, security, and growth – saving you time and delivering far superior results.

What platforms and technologies do you use?

WordPress is our primary platform, with most bespoke sites built using an ACF block-based approach. We handle custom plugins, API integrations, web apps, online stores, and other bespoke solutions. This approach gives clients flexibility, scalability, and long-term control over their websites.

Do you work remotely or in person?

Most projects are handled remotely via email, Google Meet, or phone calls. In-person meetings are possible for clients located nearby in Hampshire, UK, but we can manage projects from anywhere in the world.

Do you only work on new builds?

No, we also improve, optimise, or rebuild existing websites. This includes enhancing design, user experience, site performance, or functionality. If a website is worth saving, we can help make it better without starting completely from scratch.

Do you provide SEO?

Yes, we do, although we’re not a dedicated SEO agency. From our experience, strong technical SEO expertise with up-to-date strategies can be hard to find. A lot of approaches rely on older tactics that don’t always stand the test of time, especially as Google, ChatGPT, and other search engines are constantly changing how they assess content.

Search today is increasingly geared toward clear, well-structured content that explains who you are and what you do, backed up with good, well-written blogs. Our approach is more technical: we look at performance data, identify what can be improved, and ensure your site stays aligned with the latest guidance from Google and other search technologies. We also advise on smart backlinking to help build authority – especially by engaging with and contributing to online communities within your industry.

We usually provide SEO on a retainer basis, but we can also do one-off SEO tidy-ups if needed. It’s worth remembering that SEO is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix, and requires regular attention to keep ahead.

Do you offer consultancy?

Yes, alongside web development, we provide consultancy to help businesses choose the right technologies, tools, and strategies. This draws on decades of experience helping clients with both technical and strategic decisions.

How do we get started?

We usually begin with a quick brief over email. From there, a Google Meet or phone call is arranged to discuss your goals in more detail. We then provide a clear proposal outlining the recommended approach, timelines, and costs.
